When we started FrankenCon back in 2022, we decided it would be a cool idea to have a short film fest at the con. Little did we know that the FrankenFilmFest would become the heart and soul of the con. We've always been amazed with the quality of submissions for the past 3 years and we cannot wait to see what you have to offer!

The FrankenFilmFest is a horror short competition that takes place every year at FrankenCon. The convention has always had a strong focus on independent horror as well as exploitation and Grindhouse cinema.

Awards & Prizes

Prizes at the FrankenFilmFest are awarded in the form of trophies in the following categories:

 

Best of the Fest
Greatest Gore
Funniest Flick
Scariest Show
Cory's Grimy Grindhouse Award

 

Rules & Terms

Entries must have been filmed after 01/01/2024.
Shorts must be 12 minutes or less (including credits)
The top 8 entries will be shown at the FrankenFilmFest on 05/09/2025
 

After preliminary judging, the top 8 entrants will be contacted and will each receive 2 general admission tickets for FrankenCon to attend the film fest
